Four dives on Neil Island across a single weekend, with the ferries booked both ways. Nothing on this trip is deeper than 20 m or further than twenty minutes out.

Neil is the quieter island and it dives quieter too - shorter crossings, gentler sites, and a jetty you can walk to. This is a genuine long weekend: land Friday, dive Saturday and Sunday morning, sail back Sunday afternoon.

Who it suits

Divers with two days and no appetite for a forty-minute crossing each way, and anyone whose buddy is newly certified. Every site on this trip is inside 20 m.

Between the dives

The natural bridge at Laxmanpur at low tide, Bharatpur beach for the glass-bottom boats, and a bicycle - the island is nine kilometres end to end and that is the best way to see it.

What the trip actually looks like once you are on the boat.

  1. ArrivalFerry to Neil and an evening briefing

    Morning sailing from Port Blair, on the island before lunch. Kit fitting and the site briefing at the centre in the afternoon, then the natural bridge at low tide if the timing works.

  2. Dive day oneThe Wall and Junction

    The Wall first, dropping over the lip and running along the face at whatever depth your certification allows. Junction second - shallower, busier, and a long safety stop over the coral garden with the batfish coming in to look at you.

  3. Dive day twoBus Stop, Aquarium, and the afternoon ferry

    Two shallow dives close to the jetty so the timing works against the sailing. Bus Stop for the macro and the sand, Aquarium for the fish. Kit rinsed and bags on the ferry by two.

Before you dive

The rules every diver on this trip is held to. None of them are negotiable, and none of them are a surprise on the day.

  • Minimum age

    Divers must be 12 or older on the day of the dive.

  • Medical declaration

    A medical declaration is signed by every diver. Answer yes to anything on it - asthma, heart conditions, recent surgery, pregnancy, prescription medication - and a physician's sign-off is needed before you dive. Tell us at the enquiry stage, not on the boat.

  • Flying after diving

    Leave at least 18 hours between your last dive and your flight. Book your trip home with that gap already in it - we cannot shorten it for you.

  • Insurance

    Dive-specific insurance covering recreational diving to your certified depth is required and is not included. DAN World and DiveAssure both cover the Andamans; the nearest recompression chamber is in Port Blair.

The small print

  • Payment

    Twenty-five per cent confirms the dates and holds your seats on the boat. The balance is due seven days before you arrive. We take bank transfer and UPI; card payment goes live when the gateway does.

    Prices are per person unless the variant says otherwise, and taxes are included in the number you see.

  • Cancellation

    Cancel more than 21 days out and the deposit is refunded in full. Between 21 and 7 days we keep the deposit. Inside 7 days the trip is charged in full, because the boat and the guide are already committed.

    If we cancel a dive for weather or sea state, that dive is refunded or moved - your call, and there is no argument about it. A dive you sit out on medical advice is refunded in full.

  • Terms and conditions

    Every diver signs a medical declaration and a liability release before entering the water. A "yes" on the medical form is not a refusal - it means a doctor signs it off first, and we will tell you that before you book rather than at the jetty.

    Certification cards are checked on arrival. If your last dive was more than twelve months ago we will ask you to take a refresher, and it is chargeable.

Questions divers ask

  • Can I do this straight after my Open Water course?

    It is the ideal follow-on. Every site is inside 18 m and the guide dives with you rather than ahead of you.

  • Is the ferry included?

    Both crossings, booked by us. You will get the sailing time by email a week before you travel.

  • Can I add a third dive day?

    Yes, and it is charged per dive rather than as a new package. Say so when you enquire and we will hold the boat.
