Scuba Diver is the first half of the Open Water course, issued as its own certification. It exists for people with two days rather than four, and it is a genuine card - not a participation certificate.
What it lets you do
Dive to 12 m with a divemaster or instructor in the water with your group. What it does not let you do is dive with only a buddy, which is the line between this and Open Water.
Upgrading
The remaining two days can be completed at any PADI centre in the world, at any point in the future, and you only pay the difference. A good number of our students do it on their next trip.

Course syllabus
How the course runs, day by day - theory, confined water, then the open water dives.
Day 1Confined water skills
The swim assessment, kit assembly, and the first three confined-water sessions.
Day 2Two open water dives
Skills at depth on the first dive, then a guided reef dive on the second. Certification signed off the same afternoon.

What it costs
Every price below is the full course fee, taxes included. Nothing is added at checkout - there is no checkout yet, so tell us your dates and we will hold your place.

Courses start on the dates that suit you. Tell us when you are on the island and we will schedule your first session.
From the water
Before you dive
The rules every student on this course is held to. None of them are negotiable, and none of them are a surprise on the day.
Minimum age
Divers must be 10 or older on the day of the dive.
Medical declaration
Every student signs the agency medical declaration before the first water session. A yes to anything on it needs a physician's sign-off, and we would far rather see that form at the enquiry stage than at the pool.Flying after diving
Leave at least 18 hours between your last dive and your flight. Book your trip home with that gap already in it - we cannot shorten it for you.
Insurance
Student divers are covered by our centre insurance during training, which is not the same thing as personal dive cover. We recommend your own policy for the fun dives that follow.

Is this a lesser certification?
It is a shorter one with a real limit attached: 12 m, and a professional in the water. Within those limits it is exactly the same training.
How much does the upgrade cost later?
The difference between the two course fees at whichever centre you finish it, plus their certification fee. With us it is currently around ₹14,000.
