Advanced is the course that unlocks the Andamans. Dixon Pinnacle tops out at 18 m and Johnny's Gorge sits at 26 - the two best dives we run are both past an Open Water limit, and this is the three days that fix that.
The five dives
Deep and Underwater Navigation are compulsory. The other three are yours: night, peak performance buoyancy, wreck, fish identification, underwater photography or drift. Most people take night and buoyancy, and the buoyancy dive is the one that visibly changes how somebody dives.
There is no exam
Some short reading before each dive, and then you go and do the thing. It is the least classroom-heavy course in the ladder.

How the course runs, day by day - theory, confined water, then the open water dives.
Day 1Deep dive and peak performance buoyancy
The deep dive at Dixon or Johnny's Gorge - narcosis check, gas consumption at depth, and how different your computer behaves down there. Buoyancy on the afternoon tank.

Day 2Navigation and one of your choice
Compass and natural navigation on the ridge at Jackson Bar, then whichever adventure dive you picked over breakfast.

Day 3Night dive
The Lighthouse slope after dark - torches, buddy contact protocol, and the reason people book this course a second time for the fun of it.

What it costs
Every price below is the full course fee, taxes included. Nothing is added at checkout - there is no checkout yet, so tell us your dates and we will hold your place.
- Five dives, all equipment, materials and the certification fee.
Courses start on the dates that suit you. Tell us when you are on the island and we will schedule your first session.
From the water
Before you dive
The rules every student on this course is held to. None of them are negotiable, and none of them are a surprise on the day.
Minimum age
Divers must be 12 or older on the day of the dive.
Medical declaration
Every student signs the agency medical declaration before the first water session. A yes to anything on it needs a physician's sign-off, and we would far rather see that form at the enquiry stage than at the pool.Flying after diving
Leave at least 18 hours between your last dive and your flight. Book your trip home with that gap already in it - we cannot shorten it for you.
Insurance
Student divers are covered by our centre insurance during training, which is not the same thing as personal dive cover. We recommend your own policy for the fun dives that follow.

Questions students ask
How many dives do I need before this course?
None beyond the Open Water certification itself. Doing it immediately after Open Water is common and works well - you are still in practice.
Is 30 m frightening?
It is darker, quieter and your air goes faster. The deep dive exists so the first time you feel that is with an instructor next to you.
Can I choose all five dives?
No - deep and navigation are set by the agency. The other three are entirely yours.
